This is a sub-page of Disney's Toontown Online.

This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

Tag Arenas

Two unused tag arenas for two playgrounds.

Unused Neighborhoods

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Find out which version of the game that these zones are no longer mentioned, if at all.
Map
  • An early version of Toontown's world map.

  • Here's the same map in its unblurred glory.

Funny Farm

Funny Farm, (the grey-looking area on the map), was in fact a planned playground. One of the early ideas was Funny Farm. It was meant to be based on classic black-and-white Disney shorts such as Steamboat Willie.
It was ultimately cut because the development team couldn't figure out how to turn a farm into a neighborhood while still achieving the rural theme.

Toontown Online Map

There are no assets linked to Funny Farm, other than in early versions of the world map, where it appears completely blurred. According to the ToontownGlobals.py in the source code, Funny Farm has a zone ID of 7000, was planned to have assets in phase archive 8, and is listed as 'not done yet' in dnaMap, the array list that indexes street and playground data. This suggests it never got past the concept stage.
In case players somehow end up here, the game clones Toontown Central (hence the famous glitch that teleported players into a broken Toontown Central).

For the Field Offices update, some shopkeeper NPCs were added under the zone ID 7000, as a fallback. The game explicitly says so :

Construction Zone

Construction Zone, (on the map as the red area), was supposed to be a playground in 'perpetual construction mode'. It was based off of many early cartoon depictions of construction sites. The plan was that players could climb and jump around wacky construction sites with dangerous events. This possibly was cut due to technical limitations, but may have also been because the development team deemed it unnecessary.

There are also no surviving assets of this playground either. ToontownGlobals.py also lists it as having assets in phase 8, and as having no street or playground data. Its zone ID is 6000.

Goofy Stadium

Goofy Stadium, (on the map as a coliseum), was supposed to be a playground based off of the 1973 illustrated children's book 'Goofy the Sportsman'. The playground was supposed to include activities mentioned in the book, such as pole vaulting, chariot racing, and canoeing. It was ultimately canned because the development team hadn't finalized their ideas for sports, and they couldn't figure out how to turn it into a neighborhood.

The source code mentions the same things with Goofy Stadium as it does with Funny Farm and Construction Zone- Phase 8, no map data. The zone ID is 8000.

To do:
Get images from here.
  • Put the model in the game and add the textures (if you need the models, ask s0r00t).
  • Compare to the Sellbot Factory to see what has changed.

Found in the dated 2003 files is this unused variation of the Cog Factory. It had four silos rather than three, the Catwalk was longer, and the Factory was meant to be two stories high! Its name was based on the original concept for Cog HQs. There was going to be a Foot Factory for Sellbots, a Leg Factory for Cashbots, a Torso Factory for Lawbots and even an Arm Factory for Bossbots!
